    DBM issues P3B fuel subsidy for transport workers 

    The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Friday approved P3 billion in funding to implement a fuel subsidy program for transportation workers affected by the price increase at the pump. 

    In a statement, DBM said Budget Minister Amenah Pangandaman has approved the release of funding requests for fuel subsidies to about 1. 36 million drivers and operators affected by the series of increases. fuel prices. 

    The fuel subsidy comes after oil companies made upward revisions in gasoline prices for the eighth consecutive week and the ninth this week for diesel and kerosene. 

    The Department of Budget said the disbursement of funds was carried out at the request of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and in accordance with Special Provision (SP) No.7 of the Delegated DOTr-OSEC Agency Specific Budget authority under the General Appropriations Act of 2023 .(GAA). 

    “It should be noted that the DOTr request dated August 9, 2023 was returned by DBM on August 17, 2023, due to omissions and inconsistencies noted in the accompanying supporting documents, including Failure to submit line instructions will be issued.

    • Transport Network Vehicle Services: P6,500 
    • Tourist Transport Services: P6,500 
    • School Transport Services: P6,500 
    • Filcabs: P6,500 
    • Tricycles: P1,000 
    • Delivery Services: P1,200 

    According to the plan in the draft memorandum of understanding (MOA) submitted by DOTr, the funding will be disbursed to DOTr-OSEC, then DOTr-OSEC will transfer the entire amount to LTFRB, as the implementing agency., DBM said. 

    Based on the master list of eligible beneficiaries certified by LTFRB, DICT, DTI and DILG, the Directorate of Budget said Landbank will distribute the grants through identified payment methods, after when receiving instructions from LTFRB on procedures and mechanisms.and agreed timetable. 

    Likewise, Landbank will provide DOTr and LTFRB with necessary reports on credit success in predetermined amounts, in accordance with the deadlines specified in the MOA, or as necessary, for supervisory purposes.
